Hey Guys! Over the last few weeks, I picked up some goodies from Sephora that I’ve been meaning to share.
First off is the Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette.
It was something I’ve had my eye on for quite some time. I’m a huge fan of the Naked Palettes, the Naked 1 and Basics are staples in my makeup bag, and this has joined the ranks as a favourite. The bronzer for contouring is just the right shade and I’m a fan of the blush and highlighter as well. As with UD products, the color payoff is great and the formulas are silky and smooth. Definitely a new addition to my everyday makeup bag!
I was in the market for a new concealer, in the last few months, I’ve been moving away from MAC products, and lately the concealer I’ve been using has been creasing and I wanted to try something new. I’ve read some reviews and decided to try Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. I’ve been using it for the last couple of weeks and I’m actually still trying it out, seeing how I feel. The texture is great, thick and creamy, a little definitely goes a long way. As for the creasing, it happens here and there, it depends on the day really. Also – it s very moisturizing, which can sometimes be problematic since my eye area isn’t dry, but with a bit of powder, it’s been working well. I’m going to keep with it and see how it holds up during the summer.
I feel like I’ve been on the hunt for a nice nude lipstick for ages! I’ve tried so many different shades from a variety of brands – both drugstore and high-end, and was never satisfied with how it looked on me. If it didn’t white out my lips, it was too much on the pinky side for my tastes. After reading (and watching! Thanks Jen @frmheadtotoe) reviews of Too Faced La Creme Lipsticks, I decided I’d try it out. I ended up choosing the shade Naughty Nude, which came the closest to the look I’ve been hunting for. So far, I am really liking it. It’s moisturizing and creamy and I absolutely love the packaging! For longer wear, I also picked up a Sephora Nano Lip Liner in Queen Quartz 03, which matched the lipstick pretty closely, and came with a much nicer price tag than the Too Faced Liner (which I would’ve loved to try, but since I was splurging on the lipstick…I really couldn’t justify both).
That’s it! I picked these up at different times, using different promos, most recently being the VIB event a couple of weeks ago. I love taking advantage of the discounts when I can, otherwise it can definitely add up FAST!
Also, for all you VIBers out there who aren’t in the know, they are having a Makeover Event for Mother’s Day and from now until May 19th, they are waiving the $50 purchase requirement for a makeup application! So why not bring your mom in for a special treat or use it for a special event or night out : )
Happy Weekend Everyone!
