I love to shop. Plain and simple. Those who know me, know that to be painfully true, lol. And though I have been very good with my shopping in the last few months, the last few weeks have been a different story, hahaha. But at the very least, I did get some very good deals, and they weren’t huge hauls, just 3 mini hauls…(because that makes it better…right?)
First up is Forever 21!
These I picked up during their winter clearance sale a couple weeks ago. It was an extra 50% off the lowest ticketed price – how could I pass on checking the racks when such a great deal comes along?? I couldn’t, so this happened.
Striped Short Sleeved Boxy Cardigan (couldn’t find the link)
High-Low Rib Knit Sweater – Mint (link)
$12.99 $6.50 –> the colour didn’t show very well, but it is a soft mint shade.
Buttoned Multi-Knit Sweater (link)
Tribal Print Bib Necklace – Gold (couldn’t find the link)
Tiered Hammered Gold Necklace (couldn’t find the link)
In total, I only spent about $25 after taxes on this lot…sick deal! Amiright???
Today was the grand opening of the first Joe Fresh store in Ottawa – previously only found in Superstore chains. To promote the grand opening, the first 100 people in the store received a free $50 gift card! On top of that, the whole store was also 20% off – (excluding jewelry ). Needless to say, I trekked out this morning and stood in line. It wasn’t too bad, and I had good company ; ) Here’s what I picked up!
Cotton Peplum Tee – white (also available in Black – no link) $16
Marled Sweater – Grey(also available in Coral – link) $39
Leather Studded Cuff Bracelet – Black & Tan (also available in Coral) $9 each
I felt a bit guilty about buying the sweater since it was higher priced and I would normally wait for it to go on sale…but I got a free $50 gift card to spend, so why not? Plus, I was looking for a heavy knit, chunky sweater : ) Yay to free shopping!!
And lastly, is my Aritzia haul…(sigh).
This wasn’t all purchased on one day, mind you, and I know, Aritzia can be pretty pricy. But I love the stuff they have there. I tend to pick up staple pieces, things I can pair and mix & match, pieces I won’t quickly grow tired of – like oversized tees in neutrals, tank tops for layering, blazers etc. In my experience, even if you find something similar at another store, more often than not, it doesn’t fall or fit quite the same as the items you find at Aritzia; sometimes, you gotta splurge on quality.
Wilfred Capucine T-Shirt (in Cabernet and Glove – link) $50 –> absolutely love the cut, but it runs big. I got the XXS!!!
Wilfred Tank (similar to the Capucine Tee, with a low armhole, racer back – no link) $40
Talula Inglewood Tank (also comes in grey/black and white – link) $35 –> love the yellow : )
Talula Waverly Blouse (the floral print also comes in black, as well as an array of solid colours – link) $45 –> loving the floral!
I actually also have the Capucine top in a heather green too…when I find something I really, really like, I do have the tendency to grab it in a few colours – and like I mentioned above, it runs big, I normally wear a small, sometimes medium if I want a looser fit, so I was pretty surprised that I needed to go down not only one, but two sizes!! Oh, Aritzia sizing…so much trial and error. But yeah…totally splurged on these tops (…and I only just realized that I only got tops…oops : S) – but working there helps…a lot!
Aaannnnnd…that’s it! Phew! With the exception of the sweaters that I can wear now, I cannot wait for spring and summer to wear the tops and tanks I got. I just keep picturing it with shorts, or a skit and sandals, on the beach, in the sun….sigh. After the 20cm (and counting) of snow Mother Nature decided to dump on Ottawa today…the warm weather really can’t come fast enough.
So…with thoughts of warmer days to come – I bid you good night!
